Comic - City

Have you ever thought about other person's daily life? Each person has their own daily life. This time, I'll introduce the comic City. The genre is comedy and about the daily life of the people in the city. The main characters are all people in the city, but especially, Midori Nagumo appears. The story and characters were written by Keiichi Arawi. The comic was published in 3 volumes by Kodansha. Volume 1 came out in March, 2017. The price is 580 plus tax. City was released recently so the comic is not that famous. However, Keiichi Arawi is a very popular comic artist. His famous comic is Nichijou (日常) and the comic is popular among foreigners who like comics.



There are a lot of characters in this comic. For instance, there is a police officer, a landlord, a store owner, a comic artist, a scientist, Mont Blanc university students and more. The author writes about their daily life. In the first episode, he wrote about Midori Nagumo's life of one day. In the next episode, he wrote about a store owner and his family's life, but the time is the same time as the first episode, so the reader can see another angle in another panel. The author uses this style from his previous one so we can have a different way of enjoying unlike other comics.





I loved his comics when I was a 15 years old. I think he is smart, and he has got a very good point of view. The story, drawing ability, character idea and other things are great. He is particular about the details, so it is funny no matter how many times you read it. I'm looking forward to more wonderful daily life, and I want many people to read this one.

Comic-Jyuzai

Have you ever heard of crime comedy manga? I think that you have never heard it. This time I'll introduce the manga Jyuzai (罪×10). The genre is comedy, but the theme is crime. There are a lot of criminals in this comic. However, all characters are main characters. The story and characters were created by Yasunobu Yamauchi. The comic was published in 4 volumes by Square Enix. The price is 494 yen plus tax.  Volume 1 came out in 2014, and the comic finished its serialization in 2015. Jyuzai is a minor comic, but Yasunobu Yamauchi is a little famous comic artist. His popular comic is Daily Lives of High School Boys (男子高校生の日常). 

There are many characters in Jyuzai. For example, there is a hit woman, a hijacker, a shoplifter, confidence men, kidnappers and more. In the story, criminals mainly threaten victims with a gun or something, but most victims say a joke. Then, the criminal and the victim begin a comedy dialogue. Of course, at the end of the stories, the criminals are arrested. However, sometimes, the victims suffer a loss. For instance, a shoplifter is arrested and a staff is fired from a company because police appeared bad timing when they did the comedy dialogue. 

Probably, there is not this genre in other comics so I think that this comic is original and interesting. This comic has finished its serialization, but it is funny no matter how many times you read it. If you want to read an eccentric comic, I recommend this one!
